• Application: This 90 degree reducing elbow suits turbo intake and intercooler systems on four-cylinder and smaller six-cylinder performance builds where the charge pipe needs to make a sharp 90 degree turn and step down from 70mm to 63mm in a single fitting. Used on builds where the pipe diameter changes between components at a direction change point, avoiding the need for a separate elbow and reducer at the same location.

• Size Context: The 70mm to 63mm reduction is a modest 7mm step down across a 90 degree turn. This is a compact format reducing elbow suited to mid-range turbo builds where pipe sizing sits in the 63mm to 76mm range throughout the charge pipe system. It is particularly useful where a 70mm section of piping connects into a 63mm intercooler inlet or outlet at a corner in the routing.

• Temperature and Pressure Rating: Rated from -48 degrees C to 260 degrees C with a working pressure of 275 PSI. Handles the sustained heat and boost pressure of turbo and intercooler applications without cracking, hardening or collapsing under load.

• Construction Note: 5mm wall thickness with multi-ply silicone reinforcement throughout. Black exterior with no logo for a clean engine bay finish. The blue interior liner is standard Takashi construction and is not a defect.

• Fitment Note: The inlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 70mm and the outlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 63mm. Because the size difference between the two ends is only 7mm, measure both connection points carefully before ordering. It is easy to confuse this elbow with the same-diameter 70mm or 63mm standard elbows if pipe OD measurements are not taken accurately.

• What to Pair With It: Use with a 70mm T-bolt clamp on the inlet end and a 63mm T-bolt clamp on the outlet end. T-bolt clamps are recommended over worm-drive clamps for all boost pressure connections to ensure a consistent, leak-free seal at both ends.

• Practical Buyer Tip: The 70mm to 63mm combination is a useful elbow on mid-range turbo builds where pipe sizing steps down slightly at a direction change point. Before ordering, confirm that your pipe run requires both a 90 degree direction change and a size reduction at the same point. If you only need a direction change at either 70mm or 63mm with no size reduction, the Takashi same-diameter standard elbow in the relevant size is the correct fitting instead.
