• Engine Application: Built for the Chevrolet Big Block (BBC) family, including 396, 427, 454 and 502 ci engines. Suits Mark IV BBC heads using the long bolt style mounting pattern, found on classic Chevelles, Camaros, Corvettes, Impalas, El Caminos, GMC trucks and BBC swaps into hot rods, drag cars, marine builds and tow rigs.

• Fabricated vs Cast Construction: Fabricated valve covers are made from sheet aluminium that is cut, formed and TIG-welded together, rather than poured into a mould like cast covers. The result is a lighter cover with a flatter, cleaner profile, visible weld seams along the edges, and a more modern industrial look. Performance-focused BBC builders tend to prefer fabricated covers, while cast finned covers suit retro and resto-mod themes.

• Flat Top Design and 100mm Height: The flat top gives one clean, uninterrupted polished panel with no fins or decorative texturing, suiting builds going for a purposeful, race-bred presentation. At 100mm tall overall, these covers provide generous internal clearance for a high-lift camshaft, roller rockers, shaft mount rockers or a stud girdle, which matters more on Big Blocks where valvetrain components are physically larger than SBC equivalents.

• Welded-In Baffles and Breather Holes: Internal baffles are welded into the covers to reduce oil mist carryover, which becomes more important on BBC engines that produce more crankcase pressure under load than smaller engines. Breather holes are pre-drilled to accept push-in breathers, PCV valves or AN-style fittings depending on the build's ventilation strategy.

• Practical Buyer Tip: These covers suit long bolt BBC valve cover heads only. Gaskets are not included with this kit, so source BBC long bolt valve cover gaskets separately. Cork or rubber-coated steel core gaskets generally seal best on tall fabricated aluminium covers, and silicone bead-style gaskets are also a good option for hard-driven engines. Pair with polished accessory brackets, braided lines and AN fittings for a cohesive fabricated build look. Polished fabricated aluminium has visible weld seams, which are part of the fabricated style and not a defect. Maintain the finish with a soft microfibre cloth and non-abrasive aluminium polish, avoiding harsh wheel cleaners or solvents that can streak the surface.
