  • Engine Application: Built for the Chevrolet Small Block (SBC) family, covering the full range of common displacements including 283, 305, 307, 327, 350, 383 stroker and 400 ci engines. Suits Gen.I SBC heads with the regular perimeter bolt pattern (1959 to 1986), which is the most common configuration found in classic Chevrolets, Camaros, Novas, El Caminos, and SBC swaps into Holdens, Fords and street rods. Does not fit the earliest 1955 to 1959 staggered perimeter bolt heads or 1987-on centre bolt heads.

  • Why Choose Tall Covers: Tall valve covers add internal clearance over standard-height stamped covers, which becomes essential when running a high-lift camshaft, roller rockers, shaft mount rockers or a stud girdle. Most aftermarket roller rocker setups will not clear a stock-height SBC valve cover, so this is the safe default choice for any SBC build with valvetrain upgrades. Always confirm rocker clearance before final fitment.

  • Triple Chrome Plated Steel: Made from steel rather than aluminium, then triple chrome plated for a deep, high shine finish. Steel covers have a more traditional muscle car feel than aluminium, and chrome is the period-correct look for classic SBC builds, restorations and street machines from the 60s and 70s era. The triple plating process gives a more durable finish than basic chrome.

Also a strong choice for engine builders who supply customer engines and prefer a neutral cover.

  • Internal Baffles and Push-In Breather Setup: Includes internal baffles to help reduce oil mist carryover into the breather circuit, which matters more on hard-driven street and strip engines. Designed to use push-in breather caps and grommets rather than twist-in breathers, which is the traditional SBC setup. This means a separate breather cap and matching grommet will be needed to complete the install.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: Sold as a pair, ready to fit either bank of the engine. Confirm valve cover gaskets are sized for tall covers, as standard-height gaskets can sometimes work but tall-specific gaskets give a more reliable seal. Pair with chrome push-in breather caps, chrome PCV valves and matching chrome accessories for a consistent classic SBC look. Chrome will mark from harsh chemicals and aggressive polishes, so a soft cloth and chrome-safe cleaner is enough to maintain the shine. Wipe down regularly to prevent oil mist and engine bay heat from dulling the finish over time.
