  • Suits GM LS1 & LS6
  • Polished finned aluminium
  • 10 bolt pattern (not 11 as per LS2, LS3, LS7)
  • Engine Application: Built for Gen.3 LS engines using the 10-bolt valley pattern, which means GM LS1 and LS6 only. Found in Australian-made Holden VT, VX, VY, VZ Commodores, HSV variants, Monaros, and US-market Camaros and Corvettes from the late 90s to mid 2000s. Will not fit Gen.4 engines like LS2, LS3 or LS7, which use an 11-bolt pattern with a different oil pressure sensor location.

  • Why the Bolt Pattern Matters: Gen.3 (LS1, LS6) and Gen.4 (LS2, LS3, LS7) engines look very similar from the outside, but the valley cover bolt patterns are not interchangeable. Gen.3 uses 10 bolts and a rear-mounted oil pressure sensor, while Gen.4 uses 11 bolts with the sensor relocated to the valley. Mixing them up is one of the most common LS dress-up ordering mistakes, so always confirm engine year and model before ordering.

  • Polished Finned Look: The finned design echoes traditional small block Chevy and Buick valley covers from the muscle car era, helping a modern LS engine sit visually comfortable in older vehicles. The polished finish brightens the centre of the engine bay and works particularly well on resto-mod LS swaps into classic Holdens, Fords, Toranas and street machines, where the goal is a period-correct presentation while keeping modern LS performance.

  • When This Cover Earns Its Place: Decorative valley covers only make visual sense once the factory plastic intake is removed. The most common LS1 and LS6 builds that benefit are carby conversions (often paired with single-plane intakes) and 4150-flange manifolds for street and strip cars, where the factory valley plate is left visible across the centre of the engine. With the factory intake in place, the cover is hidden, so the spend is better directed elsewhere.

  • Common Build Pairings: Often fitted to VT-VZ Commodores and Monaros being pulled out of factory trim and rebuilt for street, strip or show use. Pairs strongly with polished or polished finned valve covers, polished single-plane intakes and polished accessory brackets for a fully chromed-out look. Also a good fit for resto-mod LS swaps into older Holden HQ-WB, Torana and classic Ford Falcon projects.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: Confirm the engine is a Gen.3 LS1 or LS6 with the 10-bolt valley pattern before ordering. The fastest visual check is the rear of the engine, where Gen.3 engines have the factory oil pressure sensor mounted at the back of the valley. Reuse the factory valley bolts if they are in good condition, and check thread depth before tightening so they do not bottom out in the casting. Keep the polished finish bright by wiping it down with a soft cloth and metal polish every few months, as oil mist and engine bay dust will dull the surface over time.

Note: this valley cover only suits the above mentioned engines; LS2, LS3 & LS6 have an 11 bolt mounting pattern.
