  • Precision manufactured in steel
  • Black EDP finish
  • Suit any Holden 253 308 carby red, blue, black V8 motor
  • Note: Will not fit EFI heads
  • Prominent raised 308 logo in the centre of each cover and raised grooves in top of each cover gives a finned look
  • These are tall valve covers and will clear most roller rockers
  • 95mm tall – check clearance to power booster
  • Complete with baffles
  • Use with push-in breather cap and grommets
  • Engine Application: Built for Holden 253 and 308 V8 carburettor motors across the Red, Blue and Black engine variants. Suits HT, HG, HQ, HJ, HX, HZ, WB, LH/LX Torana, VB through VL Commodore and earlier carby Holden V8 builds where a stealthier blacked-out look is wanted alongside the period-correct 308 logo identity.

  • Will Not Fit EFI Heads (Critical): These covers fit the carby Holden V8 heads only. They will not fit the later EFI Holden V8 heads, which use a different bolt pattern and cover footprint. If your Holden V8 is fuel injected (factory EFI on later VL, VN onwards, or aftermarket EFI conversion using EFI heads), confirm head type before ordering. This is one of the most common fitment mistakes on Holden V8 dress-up.

  • Raised 308 Logo and Finned Grooves: The prominent 308 logo sits in the centre of each cover with raised grooves running along the top, giving a finned look without being a fully finned aftermarket cover. Strong fit for 308-powered builds where the displacement badge ties in with the engine identity. The logo and grooves are part of the pressing rather than a stuck-on badge, so there is nothing to fall off over time.

  • Tall Profile (95mm): At 95mm overall, the tall design clears a high-lift camshaft, roller rockers, shaft mount rockers and stud girdles commonly used in performance Holden V8 builds. If your motor is stock or mildly modified, the low OEM-style cover is a closer match aesthetically. The tall profile earns its place when standard covers would foul performance valvetrain.

  • Power Booster Clearance Warning: At 95mm tall, these covers can come close to the brake power booster on certain Holden chassis, particularly tighter engine bays. Worth measuring clearance between the existing covers and the booster before ordering, especially on Toranas and earlier Holdens where the booster sits lower than on later Commodores.

  • Black EDP Finish: EDP (electrophoretic deposition) is an industry-standard coating process where paint is electrostatically applied to the metal in a dipping bath, producing an even, fully covered finish across every surface including down into the raised logo recesses. The result is a corrosion-resistant black finish that is more consistent than spray paint and harder wearing than basic powder coat in tight or recessed areas.

  • Complete With Baffles, Breather Setup Separate: Internal baffles are included to control oil splash and stop oil being pulled out through the breather. Push-in breather caps, grommets and rocker cover gaskets are sourced separately, so plan to add these to the order. AAA lists a separate breather cap and grommet listing, which is the easiest way to keep ventilation set up correctly.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: For 253 builds that prefer not to display the 308 badge, the no-logo version of this same cover is available. Functionally identical, just without the logo and finned grooves. EDP-finished steel benefits from gentle cleaning with a soft microfibre cloth and mild engine bay cleaner. Avoid harsh degreasers, abrasive pads or wire brushes that can scratch through the coating and expose bare steel underneath, and touch up any chips promptly with high-temp black engine paint.
