Engine Application: Built for the Ford Cleveland 302C and 351C engine family. Suits Australian Falcon XW, XY, XA, XB, XC, XD, XE and Fairlane / LTD Cleveland-powered cars, US Torino 351C builds, and Cleveland engine swaps into hot rods, F-trucks and customs where a clean blacked-out engine bay theme is the goal rather than chrome or polished aluminium..
-
Cleveland vs Windsor is Critical: Ford 302 and 351 engines come in two completely different families with different cylinder heads and different valve covers. Cleveland (302C / 351C) and Windsor (302W / 351W) covers are not interchangeable. Cleveland heads use a wider cover footprint with bolts further out, while Windsor covers are narrower with bolts closer in. Confirm you have Cleveland heads before ordering. The 302 Windsor and 302 Cleveland are the most common mix-up.

Steel vs Cast Aluminium Construction: Pressed steel construction is lighter on the wallet than cast aluminium and gives a smoother, simpler look with no fins or detailing. The steel pressing also has a slimmer profile in the bolt flange area than thick cast aluminium, which can help in tighter engine bays where intake clearance or accessory bracket fitment is tight. The trade-off is that steel does not dampen valvetrain noise quite as well as cast aluminium and is more prone to denting if struck during install or removal.

Black EDP Finish: EDP (electrophoretic deposition) is an industry-standard coating process where the metal is given an electric charge and immersed in an opposite-charged paint solution, producing an even, fully covered finish across every surface including underneath the cover and inside the bolt holes. The result is a corrosion-resistant black finish that is more consistent than spray paint and harder wearing than basic powder coat in tight or recessed areas.
-
No Logo Aesthetic: The plain smooth design suits sleeper builds, restoration projects, work utes and clean street machine Cleveland builds where engine bay branding is unwanted. Pairs well with black accessory brackets, black push-in breather caps, black or matte air cleaners and wrinkle or black intake manifolds for a cohesive blacked-out theme. Also a strong starting point for builds where the covers will be painted or wrapped over the EDP base.
-
Complete With Baffles: Internal baffles are included, which control oil splash off the rocker arms and stop oil being pulled out through the breather. This reduces oil consumption and the engine bay oil mess that comes with un-baffled covers. Particularly important on a daily driver or workhorse Cleveland.
-
Pair Listing, Breather Setup Separate: Sold as a pair, which is what the Cleveland V8 takes. Push-in breather caps, grommets, valve cover gaskets and PCV valves are sourced separately. A fresh set of Cleveland-specific gaskets is essential, as Windsor gaskets do not fit the wider Cleveland cover footprint.
- Practical Buyer Tip: EDP-finished steel benefits from gentle cleaning to keep the finish looking clean. Use a soft microfibre cloth and mild engine bay cleaner, and avoid harsh degreasers, abrasive pads or wire brushes that can scratch through the coating and expose bare steel underneath. Any small chips or scratches are worth touching up promptly with a high-temp black engine paint to keep rust from creeping in around the damage.
