  • Precision manufactured in steel and then triple chrome plated
  • Suit Ford Windsor 289 302 351W engines
  • Prominent raised 302 logo in the centre of each cover and raised grooves in top of each cover gives a finned look
  • Complete with baffles
  • Use with push-in breather cap and grommets
  • Engine Application: Built for the Small Block Ford Windsor family covering 289, 302 and 351W cubic inch motors. Suits classic Mustangs, Falcons, Fairlanes, Cobras, Broncos, F-trucks and Australian Falcon Windsor builds, as well as 351W swaps into hot rods and customs where a chrome dress-up package with the 302 displacement badge is the goal.

  • Windsor vs Cleveland is Critical: Ford 302 Windsor and 302C / 351C Cleveland are completely different engine families with different cylinder heads and different valve covers. They are not interchangeable. Windsor covers are narrower with bolts closer in, while Cleveland covers are wider with bolts further out and a more rectangular footprint. Confirm you have Windsor heads (not Cleveland) before ordering.

  • Raised 302 Logo and Finned Grooves: The prominent 302 logo sits in the centre of each cover with raised grooves running along the top, giving a finned look without being a fully finned aftermarket cover. The chrome plating picks up the raised logo and groove edges sharply, giving more visual depth than a flat smooth cover. The logo and grooves are part of the pressing rather than a stuck-on badge.

  • 302 Logo Specifically: Best suited to 302 builds where the displacement badge matches the engine. For 289 or 351W builds, the logo is technically inaccurate but the cover physically fits the same Windsor head pattern, so it remains a styling choice. If displacement accuracy matters on a display build, the 302 badge suits 302 motors and the no-logo variant suits 289 or 351W builds equally well aesthetically.

  • Steel vs Cast Aluminium Construction: Pressed steel with chrome plating is lighter on the wallet than cast aluminium and gives a smoother, brighter look. The steel pressing also has a slimmer profile in the bolt flange area than thick cast aluminium, which can help in tighter engine bays where intake clearance is tight. The trade-off is that steel does not dampen valvetrain noise quite as well as cast aluminium and is more prone to denting if struck during install or removal.

  • Triple Chrome Plated Construction: Pressed steel base with triple chrome plating gives a deep, reflective finish and improves long-term durability against oxidation and chip-through. Suits chrome-themed engine bays, classic Mustang and Falcon restorations and show builds where a bright dress-up package ties through the engine bay.

  • Complete With Baffles, Pair Listing: Sold as a pair, which is what the Windsor V8 takes. Internal baffles are included to control oil splash and stop oil being pulled out through the breather. Push-in breather caps, grommets and Windsor-specific valve cover gaskets are sourced separately. Cleveland gaskets do not fit the narrower Windsor cover footprint.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: Chrome benefits from a gentle wipe-down with a soft microfibre cloth and a quality chrome polish to keep it bright, particularly in coastal or humid conditions where pitting can start to develop. Avoid harsh degreasers and abrasive polishes that can dull or scratch the plating over time. Worth ordering fresh Windsor-specific gaskets at the same time as cheap insurance against oil leaks during initial run-in.
