  • Precision manufactured in steel and then triple chrome plated
  • Holden 202 rocker cover features 202 logo but also suits Holden 161, 179, 186 engines
  • Prominent raised 202 logo in the centre of the cover and raised grooves in top of the cover gives a finned look
  • Engine Application: Built for the Holden Red, Blue and Black inline 6 cylinder family, which share the same head family across 149, 161, 173, 179, 186 and 202 cubic inch displacements. The 202 logo is a styling choice rather than a fitment restriction, so the cover suits 149, 161, 173, 179 and 186 builds equally well. Fits EH, HD, HR, HK, HT, HG, HQ, HJ, HX, HZ, WB, LC/LJ Torana, LH/LX/UC Torana and VB through VL Commodore.

  • Rocker Cover vs Side Plates: This is the top rocker cover that sits over the valvetrain along the top of the head, not the block-side plate covers. The Holden 6 uses both as separate items. If your dress-up includes the side plates too, the matching chrome finned side plate pair is a separate listing.

  • Raised 202 Logo and Finned Grooves: The prominent 202 logo sits in the centre of the cover with raised grooves running along the top, which gives a finned look without being a fully finned aftermarket cover. Suits builds where some period-correct visual interest is wanted, particularly on 202-powered Toranas and early Commodores where the badge ties in with the engine displacement.

  • Triple Chrome Plated Construction: Pressed steel base with triple chrome plating gives a deep, reflective finish and improves long-term durability against oxidation and chip-through. The raised logo and grooves are part of the pressing, not a stuck-on badge, so there is nothing to fall off over time.

  • Gaskets Sold Separately: Rocker cover gasket is not included and needs to be sourced separately. Fresh gaskets are essential when swapping covers, as old gaskets rarely seal properly once disturbed and will leak oil down the side of the head.

  • What to Pair With It: A matching chrome finned side plate pair completes the top-and-sides dress-up, particularly on 202 builds where the logo theme can carry through. Chrome breather caps, a chrome PCV grommet, a polished or chrome air cleaner and chrome accessory brackets round out the full bright theme. Worth ordering the rocker cover gasket at the same time so the install can be done in one go.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: If you have a 161, 179 or 186 motor and don't want the 202 logo on display, the same chrome rocker cover is available in a plain no-logo version. Functionally identical, just without the centre badge. Clean the head face thoroughly before fitting a fresh gasket, torque the bolts evenly to manufacturer spec, and keep the chrome looking sharp with a soft microfibre wipe-down rather than abrasive polishes that can dull the plating.
