  • Application: The 2½" (63mm) 45 degree elbow is a popular size for mid-range turbo intake plumbing, intercooler piping and cold air induction routing on 4 and 6 cylinder turbo builds. The 45 degree bend works well where a straight hose cannot make the angle but a 90 degree elbow would create a tight kink in airflow.

  • Why 45 Degree Matters: A 45 degree bend keeps air moving smoothly through the intake tract with less turbulence than a 90 degree elbow. On boosted setups this can mean better throttle response and slightly cooler charge air temps compared to forcing the air through a sharper bend.

  • Leg Length Context: At 125mm per leg, this elbow gives enough material on each side to clamp securely to adjacent pipe sections without needing extra couplers. If your routing requires longer reach, a straight 63mm hose can be added in line.

  • Construction: Multi-ply silicone construction with reinforcing layers gives this elbow strong shape retention under boost. The black plain finish (no logo) suits engine bays where a clean factory look is preferred over branded piping.

  • What to Pair With It: You will need clamps suited to around 73mm O.D., as the outside diameter of 63mm I.D. silicone hose is roughly 10mm larger than the inside diameter. T-bolt clamps are recommended on boosted applications where holding pressure under load is critical.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: Measure the actual outside diameter of your pipework before ordering. 2½" silicone hose is designed to fit 63mm O.D. alloy or steel piping. If your existing pipework is closer to 60mm or 65mm, the seal will not be reliable and you may need a different size or a reducing elbow.
