• Application: The 3" (76mm) 45 degree elbow is one of the most commonly used sizes in turbo and supercharger intake plumbing, suiting medium to larger turbo setups on V6 and V8 builds, intercooler piping runs, and aftermarket cold air induction kits. 76mm is also a popular choice for naturally aspirated high-flow intake systems where airflow volume matters.

• Why 45 Degree Matters: A 45 degree bend gives a smoother transition than a 90 degree elbow, reducing pressure drop across the bend. On boosted setups this helps maintain charge pipe efficiency, especially in tighter engine bays where two 45s in series can replace a single 90 for better flow.

• Leg Length Context: With 125mm of straight section on each leg, this elbow gives enough clamping surface for secure fitment without crowding nearby pipework. If your routing needs more length on one side, a 76mm straight hose can be joined inline with a coupler.

• Construction: Multi-ply silicone with internal reinforcement gives the elbow shape stability under boost pressure. The plain black finish with no logo suits clean engine bay builds where unbranded piping is preferred over visible branding.

• What to Pair With It: Clamps suited to around 86mm O.D. are required, as the outside diameter of 76mm I.D. silicone hose is roughly 10mm larger than the inside diameter. T-bolt clamps are recommended on boosted applications. Worm drive clamps can work on low-pressure intake runs but T-bolts give a more even clamping force on larger diameter hoses under load.

• Practical Buyer Tip: Confirm your pipework is true 76mm O.D. before ordering. Some aftermarket intercooler kits use 75mm or 77mm piping which will not seal reliably on a 76mm hose. If your existing pipework is a different diameter, a reducing elbow may be a better choice than forcing a poor fit.
