Available (1) Black or (2) Blue:

  • Application: The 70mm to 57mm straight reducer steps pipework down from 2¾" to 2¼" in a single in-line piece without any directional change. This is a smaller transition size commonly used on 4 cylinder turbo builds, factory-style cold air intakes on smaller displacement engines, and intercooler piping where the throttle body or MAF housing runs 2¼" inlet sizing.

  • Why Straight Over Reducing Elbow: A straight reducer is the right choice when your pipework is already aligned and only the diameter needs to change. It is shorter than a reducing elbow and gives a cleaner install when no bend is required, which keeps the intake routing tidy and saves space in tight engine bays common on smaller displacement builds.

  • Confirmed Specs: 5mm wall thickness with 4-ply reinforcement. Rated 43 to 130 PSI working pressure with a 275 PSI burst rating. Temperature range of -60°C to 260°C. UV, water and ozone resistant. The ratings give generous safety margin for the modest pressures typical of smaller turbo applications.

  • Why This Size Step Matters: 2¾" to 2¼" is a small, smooth step-down that introduces minimal flow disturbance. This is a useful pairing when you have a 2¾" intercooler outlet or charge pipe section and need to transition to a 2¼" throttle body or MAF housing without a big restriction. The 13mm diameter change is gentle enough not to noticeably affect flow on most setups.

  • What to Pair With It:You will need a clamp suited to around 80mm O.D. for the 2¾" end and around 67mm O.D. for the 2¼" end, as the outside diameter of Takashi silicone hose is roughly 10mm larger than the inside diameter. Worm drive clamps are usually adequate at these smaller diameters on intake side applications. T-bolt clamps are recommended on the boosted side where consistent sealing pressure is critical under boost cycling.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: Verify your pipework diameters before ordering. 2¾" (70mm) and 2¼" (57mm) are less common sizes than 2½" or 3", and aftermarket pipework can sometimes use 69mm or 72mm where 70mm is expected. Measuring the actual O.D. of both pipe ends is the only reliable check before purchase.
