Available (1) Black or (2) Blue:

  • Application: The 76mm to 63mm straight reducer steps pipework down from 3" to 2½" in a single in-line piece without any directional change. Common uses include stepping from a 3" intercooler outlet down to a 2½" throttle body inlet on smaller turbo builds, adapting between mismatched cold air intake sections, and transitioning charge piping on 4 cylinder turbo applications where 2½" is the typical throttle body size.

  • Why Straight Over Reducing Elbow: A straight reducer is the right choice when your pipework is already aligned and only the diameter needs to change. It is shorter than a reducing elbow and gives a cleaner install when no bend is required, which keeps engine bay routing tidy and saves space for other components.

  • Confirmed Specs: 5mm wall thickness with 4-ply reinforcement. Rated 43 to 130 PSI working pressure with a 275 PSI burst rating. Temperature range of -60°C to 260°C. UV, water and ozone resistant. These ratings give solid safety margin for sustained boost on most performance applications.

  • Why This Size Step Matters: 3" to 2½" is one of the most common size transitions on 4 cylinder and small displacement turbo builds. Many factory throttle bodies on Subaru, Mitsubishi and similar platforms use 2½" inlet sizing, while aftermarket intercoolers and turbo outlets often run 3" piping to keep airflow volume up before the final step-down.

  • What to Pair With It:You will need a clamp suited to around 86mm O.D. for the 3" end and around 73mm O.D. for the 2½" end, as the outside diameter of Takashi silicone hose is roughly 10mm larger than the inside diameter. T-bolts are recommended on boosted applications. Worm drive clamps can work on low-pressure intake sections but T-bolts give more consistent sealing across the taper under boost cycling.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: Install with the larger 3" end facing the airflow source (turbo outlet, intercooler outlet, or MAF housing) and the smaller 2½" end facing downstream toward the throttle body. Reversing the direction is possible but creates a slight flow disturbance at the step-down which is usually undesirable on the boosted side.
