These rocker covers feature a raised fin design and rounded corners inspired by the performance factory valve covers of the 1950s and 1960s. Perfect for restorations, hot rods, and custom cars, these tall covers provide ample clearance for stud girdles and roller rockers.

  • Engine Application: Designed for the full Chevrolet Small Block (SBC) family with conventional perimeter bolt heads, including 283, 305, 327, 350, 383 stroker and 400 ci engines. Suits classic Chevrolets, Camaros, Novas, Corvettes, El Caminos, hot rods and SBC swaps where the build calls for a period-correct finned cover with broad engine compatibility.

  • Perimeter Bolt vs Centrebolt is Critical: SBC Bolt Pattern Fitment: SBC heads come in three valve cover bolt styles, and they are not interchangeable. The earliest staggered perimeter bolt heads (1955 to 1959) use an offset bolt pattern around the edge. Regular perimeter bolt heads (1959 to 1986) use the well-known evenly-spaced perimeter pattern. Centre bolt heads (1987-on) use bolts running down the middle of the cover, common on Vortec and late TBI motors. These covers fit regular perimeter bolt heads only. The easiest visual check is whether the existing valve covers bolt evenly around the edges, in an offset edge pattern, or down the centre.

  • Finned Retro Design: The raised fin pattern with rounded corners is inspired by performance factory valve covers from the 1950s and 1960s, giving the engine a period-correct muscle car feel. A strong fit for restorations of classic Chevs, hot rods, gassers, custom builds and resto-mods where the era of the build matters. Pairs particularly well with finned air cleaners, finned breathers and matching finned dress-up parts to keep the retro theme consistent across the engine bay.

  • Tall Profile for Performance Valvetrain: The taller cover height provides the clearance needed for a high-lift camshaft, roller rockers, shaft mount rockers or a stud girdle. Most aftermarket valvetrain upgrades will not clear stock-height covers, so tall is the safe choice for any SBC build with performance components in the heads. Always confirm rocker clearance before final fitment.

  • Cast Aluminium with Polished Finish: Made from cast aluminium rather than stamped steel, giving a thicker, more rigid cover that dampens valvetrain noise and resists distortion around the bolt holes. The polished finish brings out the depth of the finned pattern and contrasts well with painted or unpainted engine blocks.

  • Practical Buyer Tip: Each set includes baffles with self-tapping screws (fit them before installation, as the baffle screws sit on the underside), two breather grommets, and the valve cover retaining bolts and washers, which is a more complete kit than many aftermarket alternatives. Source SBC perimeter bolt valve cover gaskets separately, as gaskets are not included. Cork or rubber-coated steel core gaskets generally seal best on tall aluminium covers. Maintain the polished finish with a soft cloth and aluminium polish, taking extra care between the fins where polish residue can build up over time.
