• Application: The 89mm (3.5 inch) 45 degree standard elbow suits intercooler piping, turbo charge pipe systems, and high-flow cold air intake routing on performance six-cylinder and V8 builds where the pipe needs a 45 degree direction change without any reduction in diameter. It is a common size on modified Australian performance vehicles running 3.5 inch charge pipe systems.

• Size Context: At 89mm I.D., this elbow sits between the widely used 76mm and the larger 101mm sizes. It is the correct elbow for builds where the entire charge pipe run is 89mm throughout. Stepping down to a 76mm elbow at this point would create a restriction, and stepping up to a 101mm elbow would not seal correctly on 89mm piping.

• Temperature and Pressure Rating: Rated from -48 degrees C to 260 degrees C with a working pressure of 275 PSI. Suitable for sustained use in high-heat turbo and intercooler environments where standard rubber elbows crack, harden or collapse over time.

• Construction Note: 5mm wall thickness with multi-ply silicone reinforcement throughout. Black exterior with no logo for a clean engine bay finish. The blue interior liner is standard Takashi construction and is not a defect.

• Fitment Note: Both ends of this elbow connect to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 89mm. Confirm your pipe OD at both connection points before ordering. Do not assume 89mm based on a kit specification alone as actual pipe OD can vary between intercooler brands and custom fabricators.

• What to Pair With It: Use with an 89mm T-bolt clamp at each end for a secure, leak-free connection under boost pressure. T-bolt clamps are preferred over worm-drive clamps on all charge pipe connections.

• Practical Buyer Tip: The 45 degree angle on this elbow makes it useful for gradual direction changes in tight engine bays where a 90 degree elbow would foul other components. If your pipe run needs a sharper turn at 89mm, Takashi also offer a 90 degree standard elbow in 89mm to suit the same pipe size.
