• Application: This 90 degree reducing elbow suits turbo intake and intercooler systems on smaller four-cylinder turbocharged engines where the charge pipe needs to make a sharp 90 degree turn and step down from 63mm to 51mm in a single fitting. Common on Japanese and European turbocharged vehicles where the turbo outlet or intercooler pipe changes direction and reduces in diameter at the same point in a tight engine bay.

• Size Context: The 63mm to 51mm reduction is a 12mm step down across a 90 degree turn. This is a compact format reducing elbow suited to smaller turbo builds rather than the large frame setups that the bigger sizes in the Takashi range are designed for. It is one of the more commonly needed sizes on factory turbocharged four-cylinder builds being upgraded or having rubber hoses replaced with silicone.

• Temperature and Pressure Rating: Rated from -48 degrees C to 260 degrees C with a working pressure of 275 PSI. Handles the heat and boost pressure demands of four-cylinder turbo applications where factory rubber elbows deteriorate, crack or collapse over time.

• Construction Note: 5mm wall thickness with multi-ply silicone reinforcement throughout. Black exterior with no logo for a clean engine bay finish. The blue interior liner is standard Takashi construction and is not a defect.

• Fitment Note: The inlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 63mm and the outlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 51mm. Measure both connection points on your actual piping before ordering. Factory rubber hose wall thickness can make the internal bore appear different to the actual pipe OD, so always measure the pipe itself rather than the old hose.

• What to Pair With It: Use with a 63mm T-bolt clamp on the inlet end and a 51mm T-bolt clamp on the outlet end. T-bolt clamps are preferred over worm-drive clamps on all intercooler and turbo connections to ensure a consistent seal under boost pressure.

• Practical Buyer Tip: This is one of the more compact elbows in the Takashi range and is well suited to tight engine bays where space is limited. If you are replacing a factory rubber elbow that reduces in size and changes direction at the same point, measure both the inlet and outlet pipe OD carefully before ordering. A 63mm inlet to 51mm outlet is a specific combination and should not be assumed based on the size of the old rubber hose alone.
