• Application: This 90 degree reducing elbow suits large turbo intercooler systems where the charge pipe needs to make a sharp 90 degree turn and step down from 114mm to 101mm in a single fitting. Common on high-output builds where a large turbocharger compressor outlet runs at 4.5 inch and connects into a 4 inch intercooler pipe run, or where engine bay routing requires a direction change and size reduction at the same point.

• Size Context: The 114mm to 101mm reduction is a 13mm step down across a 90 degree turn. This is a large format fitting used exclusively on heavily modified performance engines. It eliminates the need for a separate 90 degree elbow and a separate reducer at the same location, reducing the total number of connections in the charge pipe system.

• Temperature and Pressure Rating: Rated from -48 degrees C to 260 degrees C with a working pressure of 275 PSI. Built to handle the sustained heat and boost pressure demands of high-output turbo systems without deforming, cracking or collapsing under load.

• Construction Note: 5mm wall thickness with multi-ply silicone reinforcement throughout. Black exterior with no logo for a clean finish in custom engine bays. The blue interior liner is standard Takashi construction and is not a defect.

• Fitment Note: The inlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 114mm and the outlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 101mm. At these diameters, pipe OD can vary between turbo manufacturers, intercooler brands and custom fabricators. Measure both connection points on your actual piping carefully before ordering.

• What to Pair With It: Use with a 114mm T-bolt clamp on the inlet end and a 101mm T-bolt clamp on the outlet end. T-bolt clamps are the only suitable option at these diameters for boost pressure connections.

• Practical Buyer Tip: Before ordering this reducing elbow, confirm that you need both a direction change and a size reduction at the same point. If your pipe run only needs a direction change at 114mm with no size reduction, the Takashi 114mm 90 degree standard elbow is the correct fitting. If you only need a size reduction with no direction change, a straight reducer would be more appropriate. This elbow is specifically for when both requirements occur at the same location.
