• Application: This 90 degree reducing elbow suits extreme performance turbo and intercooler systems where the charge pipe needs to make a sharp 90 degree turn and step down from 127mm to 114mm in a single fitting. Used on custom fabricated big bore intercooler systems where the turbo compressor outlet is 5 inch and the downstream intercooler or intake piping runs at 4.5 inch.

• Size Context: The 127mm to 114mm reduction is a modest 13mm step down. This fitting is used on builds where the pipe sizing is close at the connection point but not identical, avoiding the need for a separate reducer and a separate 90 degree elbow in the same location. At these diameters, this is a specialist fitting used exclusively on high-output purpose-built performance engines.

• Temperature and Pressure Rating: Rated from -48 degrees C to 260 degrees C with a working pressure of 275 PSI. Engineered to handle the extreme heat output and sustained boost pressure of high-output turbo systems without deforming, splitting or collapsing under load.

• Construction Note: 5mm wall thickness with multi-ply silicone reinforcement throughout. Black exterior with no logo for a clean finish in custom engine bays. The blue interior liner is standard Takashi construction and is not a defect.

• Fitment Note: The inlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 127mm and the outlet end connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 114mm. At these large diameters, pipe OD can vary significantly between turbo manufacturers, intercooler brands and custom fabricators. Measure both connection points carefully before ordering.

• What to Pair With It: Use with a 127mm T-bolt clamp on the inlet end and a 114mm T-bolt clamp on the outlet end. At these diameters, T-bolt clamps are the only suitable option. Worm-drive clamps must not be used on boost pressure connections at this size.

• Practical Buyer Tip: This elbow is most commonly used on engine swap builds and custom turbo kits where a large 5 inch turbo outlet feeds into a slightly smaller 4.5 inch intercooler pipe run. Using this single fitting to handle both the direction change and the size reduction keeps the charge pipe run shorter, reduces the number of join points, and lowers the risk of boost leaks at high pressure.
