• Application: The 127mm (5 inch) internal diameter is the largest straight silicone hose in the Takashi range. It is suited to extreme performance turbo builds running very large frame turbos with oversized compressor outlets, custom fabricated big bore intercooler systems, and large displacement engines with high-flow intake setups where airflow restriction at any point in the system must be eliminated.

• Size Context: At 127mm I.D., this hose is a specialist size used on purpose-built drag, circuit and high-output street builds. It steps up from the 114mm size and is not typically found on factory or mildly modified vehicles. If you are running a turbo or intake system that requires 5 inch piping, this is the correct hose for straight sections of that run.

• Temperature and Pressure Rating: Rated from -48 degrees C to 260 degrees C with a working pressure of 275 PSI. Engineered to handle the extreme heat output and sustained boost pressure demands of high-output turbo systems without deforming, splitting or collapsing under load.

• Construction Note: 5mm wall thickness with multi-ply silicone reinforcement throughout. Black exterior with no logo for a clean finish in custom engine bays. The blue interior liner is standard Takashi construction and is not a defect.

• Fitment Note: This hose connects to pipes with an outside diameter of approximately 127mm. At this diameter, variations in pipe OD between turbo manufacturers, intercooler brands and custom fabricators are common. Always measure your actual pipe OD at the connection point before ordering. Do not rely on turbo or kit specification sheets alone as stated sizing and actual pipe OD can differ.

• Length and Cut Flexibility: At 1 metre long, this hose can be cut to the exact length needed for your pipe run. On large custom builds where intake or intercooler routing requires precise lengths, having the full metre available avoids the need to join shorter sections.

• What to Pair With It: Use with a 127mm T-bolt clamp at each end. At this diameter, only T-bolt clamps should be used. Worm-drive clamps are not suitable for 127mm connections under boost pressure as they cannot maintain consistent clamping force around the full circumference of the hose.

• Practical Buyer Tip: The 127mm size is the top of the Takashi straight hose range. If you are building a system that requires 5 inch piping throughout, plan your elbow and reducer requirements at the same time as ordering this hose. Takashi also offers elbows and reducing elbows in sizes that connect to 127mm piping, so you can keep the same brand and construction standard across the entire charge pipe run.
